A VAMPIRE SKODA THAT RAN ON HUMAN BLOOD
Vampires need to look fearsome, menacing and cruel. So if you ask me one of the best-looking vampires on the big screen is a SKODA 110 SUPER SPORT.
In 1982 Czechoslovak movie Upor z Feratu an ambulance driver Mima starts working as a rally driver for a foreign company Ferar. To make things scary, rumours circle around saying that Ferar cars use human blood as their fuel and that is the fun of the movies.
It was presented at the 1972 Brussels Auto Show and immediately gained a lot of attention. The most unusual thing about it is the fact it had a SKODA badge, which really stood out in the company's line up.
The angular shaped mid-engined 2-seater was completely modern for its time, being a result of proper petrolhead imagination.
At the front,it had 6 pop-up headlights. They were styled to look like huge rally fog-lights and would pop out of the upper part of the nose. At the back were 16 taillights that made it look like rockets.
For movie purposes the car was painted black and red and pop up headlights were replaced by square ones and was made more subtle. Under the hood skoda put a 1.1 litre 4-cylinder engine with 73hp giving a top speed of 180 kph.
The supersport was to have a limited production run but that never happened. Only one was ever made which is quite sad as it is such a cool car
